Sarah J Larsen
Managing Attorney

Sarah J Larsen graduated from Lewis and Clark College’s Northwestern School of Law (Portland, Oregon) in 1998. Her primary course work there focused on business and tax law. She became a member of the Utah State Bar in 1998, but decided to return to Oregon to work with a law firm specializing in employment law, and became a member of the Oregon Bar in 2000. After the stint in Oregon, Sarah returned to Utah to work for a year with collections law firm. Thereafter, she channeled her knowledge of employment and creditor/debtor law to become corporate counsel for several small-to-medium sized companies, including:

  • a mortgage company, which gave her insight into the inner-workings of the credit reporting agencies;
  • a dot com, which taught her about eCommerce; and
  • a business process solutions provider, which taught her how to use outsourcing companies to keep overhead and costs down.

Having gained broad business and credit law experience, coupled with the decline in the economy that has presented consumers with some of the worst financial challenges since the Great Depression, the decision to create a firm that specializes in bankruptcy was an easy one. Sarah is compassionate and understands what her clients are going through, having worked on all sides of the spectrum. Sarah knows how to work with the credit card companies, banks and mortgage companies, as well as the credit bureaus to achieve the best results for her clients. Sarah is experienced not just in bankruptcy, but in other debt-management matters, so she is able to advise her clients on all their options, not just from one perspective.

Sarah served as an officer of the Corporate Counsel Section of the Utah State Bar from 2005 until 2007, and the Chair of that section from 2007 to 2008. She has also been involved with the Young Lawyers Section and the Solo, Small Firm and Rural Practice Section, the Bankruptcy Section of the Utah Bar, and the Utah Bankruptcy Lawyers Forum.

Sarah completed her undergraduate work at the University of Utah, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Economics. She is an avid Ute fan, having been one of the first members and officers of the Student Alumni Association, which created what is now known as the MUSS.
